In the latest All Access Pass, Billy Kidd interviewed drummer Dane Clark. Dane talked about his tour with John Mellencamp, his solo album, and the instruments he has played. Listen to the audio below to hear the interview.
Dane spoke on his tour with John Mellencamp.”I’ve been in this band for 19 years, and I just think long term fans and even casual listeners will like this show that we’ve put together,” Dane said. “I think the reviews speak for themselves. It’s all been very good so far.”
Billy asked Dane about his solo album. “It’s a little more Americana. It’s got a little more fiddle, there is more steel guitar. It’s a little closer to contemporary country then what John does,” Dane responded.
Dane plays many instruments, including guitar, drums and piano, but which came first? “Piano came first. I write a lot of things on Piano. Started in 3rd grade on that. And then guitar after that. And drums was actually the last thing I went too. I still play everything, and just love music. And write songs and singing and produce records for people, and try to have a good time.”

I don’t want to spend a lot of time or a lot of money. Here’s the thing, here’s the song. It’s a funny song we have to have a funny video. So we found a really cool place… and I just wanted and not make my wife mad that I had a girl that was 15 years younger than her in the video. But I think it all worked out all right,” Dane said about the video.
